Hi Antoinette, I’ve been meaning to drop you an email to tell you how much we enjoyed our safaris. The camps were wonderful, everything was just so great; the food, the drinks, the staff, the guides, the accommodation, and of course the animals and experiences we had were top notch! Better than anything we could have expected. It surpassed what we thought we would experience!
We were also amazed by the organization of all the flights, transfers, bush-plane flights, luggage storage, etc etc. It was so smooth and seamless there was nothing that went wrong with any of the arrangements. All those moving pieces but it all ran so smooth – I don’t know how you did it, but good on you, excellent job!
The hotel in Cape Town was so fancy and nice. We did get out to Table Mountain and the Franschhoek wine country. That day was very enjoyable. We had sometime to explore the V&A waterfront in Cape Town, it was a nice area. We had an absolutely first rate hotel and staff to look after us, which they did with great care. - Ellen Siebens··from Google
A group of five of us - family and friends - just finished an epic trip of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and the five glorious days on safari at the Borana Conservancy in Kenya! Explorations Africa organized everything for us and absolutely every detail was perfect! Not a thing went wrong, and we had the time of our lives! This is the second time that we've had Explorations Africa plan, organize and support an extensive trip to Africa for our family. There simply isn't anyone better than Antoinette and Dan and the Explorations Africa team when it comes to understanding the dynamics of Africa. We can't thank them enough and we're already looking forward to our next African adventure. As long as Explorations Africa does the planning and organizing our trips, we'll head back to Africa as many times as possible! We just wouldn't have it any other way.

We have no words to describe how incredible our experience was in Africa. We were fortunate to be there during the sweet spot between the end of the tourist season and the very beginning of the rainy season. The heavy rains held off and we were able to enjoy every day on safari far from the crowds. From the time we arrived in mid-December to the time we left in early January, we saw more than we could have ever imagined as animals grazed happily on the new lush vegetation in the open grasslands. This was also an amazing time to see many baby animals. In South Luangwa National Park, we watched a female leopard take a young warthog right in front of us, then spend time with her cubs. We visited Victoria Falls when the low water allowed an incredible view of the geological features that create a stunning landscape. At Tsowa Island on the great Zambezi River our magical experience included both river safaris as well as game drives, offering an incredible diversity of birds as well as other wildlife. On the Chobe River we watched lions as they watched buffalo, elephants as they crossed the river, a giraffe drinking on the shoreline, mongoose tormenting baby warthogs and a small crocodile, and many amazing birds! In the Okavango Delta we were very close to a male lion as he was roaring, communicating with a nearby female, then we also watched her and her cubs for awhile. We saw two white rhinos being escorted by the military, who were protecting these animals from poachers. My favourite, the zebras, were also more abundant. We went on a night drive and saw an aardvark, an aardwolf, and hyena. We concluded our trip at Mokete Camp, on the edge of the wild plains of the Mababe Lower Depression. Incredible lightening storms were visible across the plains, but we were fortunate to remain dry as we drove through the now lush shrubland vegetation that surrounded the plains. We saw large herds of buffalo and drove through a herd of more than 30 giraffes, and saw more amazing antelope and birds. And the list of animals we saw could go on. Accommodations at all five of our camps were exceptional, clean, and safe. The staff were amazing, and the food terrific. Transit through airports and between countries and camps was well facilitated, reducing our anxiety and making sure that we were always heading in the right direction. Our guides were excellent, very knowledgeable of both the general environment and the specifics of each of the animals, knowing where they would be found. All of our guides were very respectful of the animals, getting us close without stressing the animals or changing their behaviours, and putting us in position for many stunning photographs. Thank you Antoinette, this was a trip of lifetime and something we can’t stop thinking about.
